In their secluded farmhouse, a mother, formerly a surgeon in Portugal, teaches her daughter, Francisca, to understand anatomy and be unfazed by death. One afternoon, a mysterious visitor shatters the idyll of Francisca's family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, but also awakening unique curiosities. Though she clings to her increasingly reticent father, Francisca's loneliness and scarred nature converge years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a dark form.

This movie has been one of my all time favorite. Every time I see it it gets better. I always get teary eyed. Its not scary, but it makes me sad and it makes me sad that in my country you can only buy cigarettes at the gas station. It's a sad movie, but I'm sure that it will touch you if you've had a death in your family. I'm sure you will find this movie inspirational.

My friend and I got this at Blockbuster and we absolutely fell in love with it. It is one of the best horror films I have ever seen. I am not a huge fan of horror films. I only watch a few horror films a year. I usually don't like these big-budget flicks. This was definitely one of the best, and my only problem with the film was the "Psychiatry of the insane". The movie should have had a few more scenes of torture. I agree with the other reviews, the music in the film was great, and definitely added to the film. I recommend the film to everyone, and everyone should see it. I hope this film is a big hit.

I love this movie. It is one of my favorite films of all time. I am a huge fan of the horror genre and have always been a huge fan of Italian horror. After watching this movie I have definitely bought into the Italian style. My favorite genre in horror is Italian horror. I am totally a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan. He is definitely my favorite director in the horror genre. Every horror movie I have seen that I have reviewed has been a 9/10. Every one of his movies are extremely excellent. The movies I have seen have ranged from 1 star to 10 stars. This movie is definitely in the 2-3 star category. It is definitely worth a watch. My favorite scene is the end of the movie, I could watch it over and over and over again. The movie really pulled me into it. I cannot say enough about how much I love this movie!

Some films might be considered classics, and some may be considered perfect. Some are meant to be 'pink', others are meant to be 'white' and there's a bunch of others in between. But the real key to what makes a film a classic is not about how many times it was seen, but how it is, how it is still able to affect a viewer and make them go back to watch it again and again and again. This film is about that. And you need to watch it a couple of times to fully understand what it means. Well, that's it, but trust me you'll still be thinking about it for a while after watching it. It's that good. The last thing I want to say is that the soundtrack to the film is really superb and every song will make you remember a time when you went on a vacation with your best friends and just listened to a real good rock'n'roll tune. The tracks include, "Under Pressure", "I'm Gonna Leave You". I don't think you will be disappointed by it.

A very interesting story. I'm not even sure what the director was trying to say, except that all those who were anti-christians would get what a pain he must have been. On a religious level, the story would be understood. I don't see how a black man could be anti-Christian and then be the saviour of the city of Jerusalem and become a king. Maybe it's my original view on what the anti-christ character should be like, but that's a great story. They may be talking about how one would be. I don't know. However, the strongest part of the story for me is the love story. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn something about the world outside of their faith.

I've watched this movie only once, when i was younger, and i have to say that i do not regret watching it. I'm glad that i did not listen to the comments i saw about the poor acting in this movie. All the cast was fantastic. I have to say that the acting was truly on point. The scenes were frightening at times, and quite shocking. If you are in need of a good scare then this movie is the movie for you. Even if you don't think that this movie is a good movie, it's worth seeing, as a movie, it deserves a 9 out of 10 rating.

It is hard for me to decide if I like this movie or not. There are many different types of horror films and I prefer this one. Horror movies are full of powerful images. This movie also has a bit of humor that is very attractive. I have never seen a movie with such a beautiful title. When I first watched this movie, I didn't see that it was made by a woman. I thought it was a man, but then I saw the production as a woman. This movie is an amazing work of art, the photography is fantastic and the acting is brilliant. You will not be disappointed. Just keep in mind that it is not a children's movie. This is not a movie for little kids. Adults will love it.

I am a huge fan of Carolann Dubois, I have seen her in a very few films, but she is the undisputed queen of horror, and I am very glad to have seen her in "Eyes of My Mother". I can't think of anyone else who would give this film more than an 8.8. The film is a unique and beautiful gem. Beautiful film-making that is hard to find these days. I don't think that there is a movie on the planet that doesn't take its time in telling a story, but "Eyes of My Mother" is a masterpiece. Not one of the most gruesome films that I have seen, it is actually a pretty calm film, and its light hearted approach is very refreshing. The plot revolves around Maria, a woman who has just lost her husband in a car accident. She lives in a rural farm house in the midst of a forest and wants to fix the house before the funeral. Her mother Rose, Maria's mother, also lives with her daughter, who runs away from home for the first time. Rose has recently moved to her niece and her nephew, both of whom have grown up to be more mature. Rose will not see them grow up, so she waits for the inevitable moment when she will have to move them and give them her old home. The film starts off with a slow but well shot scene that takes place in a truck with a cold fog rolling over the trees. The weather is terrible, and the scene makes you feel cold and alone. This scene is only half of the whole film. As we move along we are introduced to four other characters, the mother, Maria, Rose, and her sister Judy. Each of them has a great story, and they all share a very strong bond with one another. All of the characters, even the niece, are also kind and caring people. They are not all strong or driven, but they do care about each other, and that is what makes "Eyes of My Mother" special. In the last scene the house is taken over by an evil entity, and Rose and her aunt move back to the house. Rose's uncle is able to destroy the entity, and the last scene we see them together is the sweetest scene that I have seen in a horror film. This is a very moving film, and for a very long time I have wanted to see it again.

I'm a sucker for the slasher and love a movie that keeps your interest till the end. But this movie had it all. The first two thirds are slow but the last third brings a great climax. Of course it was predictable, but it was at least an interesting twist, and you had a great ending. Overall, a great movie that makes you think. One of the best endings I have seen in a long time.

After the fairly positive reviews for the recent "The Devil's Rejects," I have to admit that I wasn't too impressed. Still, I felt compelled to give this film a chance because I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. There's an almost comic book quality to it that makes it so much more fun. I think it's because the characters are so fleshed out and human and realistic that you can't help but want to see them succeed. There are some great scenes with the parents, and you can't help but root for them. I think it's because the movie has so many beautiful scenes and shots of the countryside and countryside locations that you can't help but fall in love with it. It's so much fun to look at. The acting is wonderful, too, and it's just so well-done and perfect that it's difficult to say that it's not great. I think the one thing that I thought was lacking was the cast. They seemed to be sitting on a lot of extras. It seemed like they had no idea what the camera should look like, and sometimes, they would just look out the window. It just seemed like they were a little too desperate to get some nice, simple shots. I think that if you like romantic fantasy, you'll really like this movie. It's definitely an underrated movie that should be viewed by people that have a heart for stories of life and love.

Watched it when it was originally on. My husband and I both loved it, we would give this film an 8/10 just for the graphics and acting. The story behind the story. It was just like a movie you might have seen in an art school. It is very dark, and has a few scenes where you don't see the end of the movie. I think it would be best if you watch it at night, in the dark, with your eyes closed, and enjoy it. Good creepy music by Laurie Anderson. If you liked "Curse of the Werewolf" or "Blood Diner" and liked the older "Scream" films you will enjoy this. I saw it at midnight when it first came out, and i still enjoy it today. This is a great movie, with a very sad and dark story. My only complaint is that the ending was a little underwhelming. But still worth the time. 10/10

After the tragic death of his wife, a disgraced postman gets a chance to redeem himself by giving a 14-year old boy a gift to bring his grandmother back to her dying parents' home. The former is very excited about the idea, the latter is unsure, but soon discovers the profound effects the gift has on their lives. Seeing this film, it's no wonder many kids have never stopped wondering if they could do something for someone like their grandmother. "Do you feel lucky to have someone like me?" "How do you feel?" "Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have someone like me?" "Does your grandmother ever talk to you like this?" "Will you ever get to have a life like her?" These are questions that have become more common in America. There are many who say the thing we don't want is having more than we do, but there are many others who can relate to the comments I've given. If you haven't seen this film yet, watch it. If you've seen it and still feel there are some parts in the film that aren't quite right, watch it again. The world could be a better place if more people would watch this film and take the time to really understand what I've said. Even though I made a few more mistakes in my writing of this review, I couldn't help it. I could have gone into this film with more passion, but I just wanted to get it out there and write this review so other people could see the greatness this film is. I give this film a 10 out of 10.

This movie is absolutely amazing! It's definitely a movie that needs to be seen in a theater. It has been a couple years since I have seen it and I still love it. It is a great psychological thriller with a twist. I loved it and I think it is a movie that is difficult to explain. So I am going to keep it a surprise for now, and you should see it when it comes out!

This was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had in my life. It was pure gold! It's definitely one of my favourite films of all time and I think anyone who's a fan of 'Flandre' or 'Jane Eyre' will definitely enjoy this. It's really raw and at times it is really hard to watch, but all the pieces fall together at the end. From the beginning, you can't help but be drawn into this film, it's so real and so much real love. It has a scene that no one has ever really seen before, it's very powerful and it really stuck with me. The way the script is written and the way the film is shot is so amazingly polished. The cinematography is incredible, the music is amazing and the acting is just incredible. The ending is absolutely amazing, absolutely fantastic and very emotional. I love this film, I can't imagine anyone not loving this film and definitely it's the one of the best films of all time. It is absolutely one of my favourite films ever. 10/10

This movie is a complete product of art. From the first frame to the last shot. A haunting drama set in the Middle Ages. Take a trip to the past with this cinematic masterpiece.

There is something primal about this movie. It feels raw and sinister. The end is almost a slap in the face to viewers who might be disinterested in the idea of pre-genocide. Or those who don't know any of the tribes. The ending is absolutely unique and really separates this movie from many others of it's kind. If you have never experienced this movie before, you will love it. The movie is beautiful. It's a "must see" movie. 10/10

I never write reviews of films, but I felt I had to put this one out here for everyone to see. This is the most powerful and dramatic film I have ever seen in my life. I am a huge fan of David Lynch and this film is the best of his work. It is surreal, a little bit crazy and a little bit sad. It has a very dark and sinister mood that hits you after you watch it. But I believe that if you put a little bit of this in your life and try to live your life like you normally would, you will also find some inspiration in this film. I give this film 10 stars and I can't understand why it is rated so low. If you have the chance to see this film, I strongly recommend that you do.

this is one of my all time favorite films. I have seen it a hundred times, probably 20 times or more. This film is truly haunting, I have never seen a movie that has affected me as much as this one has. I'm not sure why, but it seems to have done it for me. I've never felt so alive, or the way I do about things in the world, or just the way I feel, or the way I believe, or the way I feel about things. I'm not sure why that is, but I can tell you it is. This movie has always brought me back to my childhood. It is truly unforgettable, and it's one of my all time favorites. If you don't love this movie, you are clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. This movie is amazing. It is my all time favorite movie. I highly recommend it. I've watched it at least ten times, and it still makes me think about things in the movie, and still makes me feel good. This is a MUST see movie. This is the type of movie you never want to miss. I really hope this movie gets a DVD release. It deserves one.

Well, I found this movie so disarming and as compelling as a new horror film I've ever seen. I'm going to have to watch it again and again and again to find out more about this movie that isn't yet known to me. I'm glad I saw it and I think it was much more than a coincidence that it was shot in Australia. I thought it was really well done with no obvious flair. When I first saw it I thought it looked like it was shot in Vancouver, which I thought was bizarre, because it's only been a few years since I was a kid and I have to assume that the people who made this film had been watching some of the Canadian horror movies that were put out around that time and the idea of the specific locations and the actors and the whole feeling that it had a very Canadian feel to it made it really exciting. I do love Canada and would like to visit. It was this really warm, intimate, genuine feeling to the film. I really like it. This film is one of the most beautiful, well shot, well acted, well written, well directed films I've ever seen. I really, really loved it. I haven't seen it on television so I'm not sure how long it's been since I saw it, but I'm sure it's been a long time. I definitely recommend this movie, it is fantastic. 10/10

You don't have to be Irish to enjoy this movie, just like you don't have to be white to enjoy a film about racism. It's a wonderful movie with powerful images. Lots of people in it, a very talented cast. Just go see it, it's that good!

The year is 2032, with the technology that has developed since the first film. But the world is about to end. A single cell phone has no battery, and the world will eventually go completely black. A man and a woman, both married, travel to South America to find a cell phone, when they discover a device that controls the world. The plot of the movie, with much twists, is too complicated to list here, but suffice to say that this movie is a MUST SEE, with a story that is unpredictable and mysterious, and with a soundtrack that will make you laugh and cry. The movie takes place in Argentina, in a post-apocalyptic world. The main character, Elisa, is a pregnant woman, who struggles with the loss of her child, as well as with her divorce from her husband, when she discovers the mysterious device. It is the woman's only companion, a man named Walter, who is a former explorer who now works as a black market dealer, running a radio station, which broadcasts news from South America. It is a game, as he and his crew go out to make a deal, for any device, and any amount of money, on the survival of the world. This is not a movie about what is happening today, or what is going to happen tomorrow, this is a movie about what happens when we do nothing, and the way we choose to live our lives. An act of hope, and a call to find love, and play a part in making the world work. What we do matters, and how we live our lives matters, too. What I enjoyed most, is that the movie isn't just about a call for hope, but it also focuses on the desire for love, and playing a part in making the world work.

This movie is a MUST see for those that like good psychological horror. This is one of the best, if not THE best, slasher movie I have seen. I just had the chance to see it at an IMAX screen. I will definitely see it again.

I did not have high expectations for this movie, but I was truly surprised at how this movie was. It's incredible. The performances were amazing. The story is excellent. The director did a wonderful job at turning the story into a classic, the actors played their parts perfectly. I saw the DVD release, and was blown away by the production values. I was floored by how detailed the sets were. This movie had incredible production values that were breathtaking. The story was haunting, yet it was a bit out there, but was a great example of a black & white movie. The acting was fantastic, and I was glad to see that Christine Lahti was really good. I have to say that for me, the best part of the movie is the end. I don't want to give anything away, but I can say that I was blown away by how amazing the ending was. It really was the best ending I've ever seen. This movie is truly outstanding, and I recommend it to everyone.

This movie is truly a masterpiece. It is a perfect example of the total human essence. Anyone who has been abused in a loved one's life will relate in some way to this movie. It is just so full of life, emotions, emotions, and the human. It is very sad, this movie can show the torment that the people who did this to you suffered, and what it meant to you as a human being. For any of you who have not seen this movie, go see it ASAP. It will make you feel like you were right there with the woman who was tortured. Even though the movie is a little slow at some parts, the film is extremely well done and it has that perfect tone that has been perfected over the years. This movie was definitely the highlight of my year 2012.
