This is the second feature film for the ever-talented British surrealist, director and writer, Michael Haneke. The previous film was called "Whiplash", and was a successful and largely critical success, but sadly it was very polarizing, mainly because of the often too-obviously far-fetched nature of the characters and the stories presented, mostly told in the form of a single, lengthy, handheld, monologue that ended with each character in a completely black and white field of vision. "The Boxcar Children: Surprise Island" is no "Whiplash", as it is narrated in linear fashion by the protagonist, played by Paul Dano. This is actually my favorite of all his films, and I'm not even sure I fully understand it yet. The thing that made me more disturbed about this film is that I still can't believe the characters I saw on screen at times sounded so askew. They were almost everything but relatable, and I could see the challenges of their own sanity. I know Haneke, and the whole idea of "boxcar children" is a very heavy topic for him, so this will be my first taste of his film. "Boxcar Children" is a wonderful character-study, largely autobiographical, with a couple of characters we are familiar with from his previous films. The narrative is told in a single monologue, which is a great way to tell a story and keep it simple, but it does have a narrative style that, while at first kind of annoying, becomes actually quite well-timed. And yes, I have been listening to this album for quite a long time now, and I still can't get it out of my head.

i was very surprised that the children's film came out first, the kids are terrific and very believable. i would say the adults are more reserved and not so crazy but have the same energy, they are always smiling and walking around with energy. i enjoyed the kids for having such a clear view of their world, and showing the "tension" between their families. overall, i would recommend the movie to anyone. just have patience and let the movie begin.

Not to get too fancy, but my point is that this film is so visually breathtaking, it should have been a full length feature length film. With such a big budget, what could you do that wasn't special? The boxcar children's play from the DVD contains a lot of wonderful animation and there is always something that draws you to the story. The effect is that the boxcar children are like people you know and love, and it's amazing to see the little ones grow up to become adults. I will recommend this film to anyone interested in family films that deals with children and family issues. I think it's good to find this film on DVD or get it on video.

Very entertaining. Could have done with more lines. Also have to figure out some of the facial expressions they tried to mimic. Even though the technical details are poor, I think that most people would enjoy this movie as it is. As you can see, it is really a basic plot of how the others will react to it as they have not experience it first hand. It's also interesting to see how they figure out that the island is actually a big boxcar. I can't remember how many times I've watched this movie, but it's still a good one.

I finally made it to the screen at last. I had been looking forward to seeing this since its release at Sundance last year. The characters and the story in the first half of the movie are truly engaging and the execution is right on. The film does the adaptation well, using the languages of the original story and the director's style to present a film that looks like a live action novel. The problem with most movies today is that they are adapted for the fans. The live action adaptations are all the same - the characters have more personality than we really know. Not so with The Boxcar Children. The actors are super talented and portray the characters on a very interesting level. This film did a very good job at capturing what was unique about the story. It is also interesting how the story evolves throughout the film, as well as the story being told. This is what makes this so good. It is a good movie for people who want to explore the original story without being too familiar with it.

I'm not sure I should get into the political stuff of the film, because it's hard to make a film that's independent of advertising. The Boxcar Children is just too clever and completely independent of money, which is what makes it stand out from the pack. If you don't understand this, don't watch it. My wife and I are on vacation this weekend and we are going to pick up a copy of the film from the theater. I'm very pleased that I watched it and I really enjoyed it, even though the kids were awake at the time, and we have to get up and start making dinner. It's a great story about building bonds with others and it's even really funny. It's really good.

This was just one of the best reviews i've ever read on IMDb. I just couldn't believe that it wasn't anything like the movie I've been expecting! It was even better than the TV show. The only thing that didn't leave my mind was the girl's hair. I loved it. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was that the music was in American Sign Language. I'm American and I thought it was a really good choice. I never understood that the movie is based on a Japanese movie and when the parents go on their cruise, they see the Eiffel Tower? and then they go on their ship? What's going on? Anyway, it's a great movie!

This is a beautifully illustrated movie that not only entertains, but teaches us that we are connected to all around us. The short works are so important that if we wish to make a change in the world we need to learn from and see the world through the eyes of others. I will only add that it is a great thing that there is not only children in the film, but also adults who will learn from and relate to the movie. The actors that play the children and children's friends are outstanding in the movie and give so much to the viewer. They portray the kids and friends as real, intelligent, full of life, and loving. And it makes the film so much more meaningful. My favorite character in the film is "Jenny", the older brother who lives on Surprise Island. He is a great character. He is full of humor and has a very charming personality. The movie's story is very similar to one in a book that I own that is now in my library, "The Boy Who Cried Squirrel", which I have read several times, and that is a wonderful, heartfelt book. The movies does not contain any actual monkey or creatures in the film, but a character named Cpt. G-O.U.M., who is actually a monkey, and who in the movie is played by Mopoo. That character is also very funny and he is very cool and all. "The Boy Who Cried Squirrel" is just as meaningful and also very funny. So I would recommend you see the movie. It is a great movie that children will enjoy and adults will learn from. The only complaint I have is that there are some other short short stories that were not included. I have read some of these stories and they are wonderful, but they were not included in the movie. So that really made me sad. Maybe you should go see the film and learn more from the short stories, but you might want to buy or rent these short stories. There is nothing wrong with just reading these stories. And I hope they are available for you to read or rent. They are really fun. Oh, by the way, they are very good stories. I recommend them to everyone, especially if you are a little child or you are interested in animals, animals, animals, animals. You should see the short stories. They are so good and exciting. Also, I have heard that there will be a sequel to this movie. I heard that it will be good and new. But that movie I saw was good and fresh. Don't worry, I'll see it. So if you love animals and animals, animals, animals, animals, and animals, I hope you'll check out The Boxcar Children, I just hope you'll love it.

The new Asma-Harriet movie is a keeper! I must admit I hadn't heard about it before, but after watching it, I just had to see it. And, I'm glad that I did! The story isn't that complex and it's not full of action or suspense, but it is interesting to watch. It was well made and I liked the characters and the environment they lived in. This movie is definitely for people who love children and wildlife and some people who love nature. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends. 9/10

My wife loved this movie for many reasons: First, it was very light-hearted, funny, and memorable. Second, it was a family film. Second, it was a children's film. I think many people may have a hard time understanding why they would want to see a children's film when they are more mature and will understand what is going on. And third, it was a children's film. The movie has a "parody" feel to it that you get at the end, and a little "shock." That was a good touch for the kids to see. The movie is great for young kids. If you don't like children's films, I wouldn't go see this. I do like children's films, and this is just a good, funny movie. It is really nice to see a different and different kind of movie. This is a very unique and refreshing thing for children to watch. Especially with all the computer animation that they are doing now. Just kidding. But if you are mature enough for a child's film, I do recommend this.

I love this movie. I am obsessed with it! It is one of my favorite movies and it is totally unique! So many movies seem to be run-of-the-mill and boring and predictable. I love it when movies take risks and use unusual special effects. I am so glad this movie did. It is completely unique and unique. I love the writing and the actors. I think that this movie is on my all-time favorite list! It is the best movie I have ever seen. It is so well-written and original. You should buy it! It is so well-written and it is one of my all-time favorites!

This movie has something to do with a bird named John who has a special status in the circus. Anyway, it is a fun movie with many different elements in it. Some parts are goofy like people jumping around all over the place, and some are more serious like when a killer whale goes on a rampage at a picnic and the people fight back. The animation and the color palettes are great and the voices are great for each character. For those who are into the genre of fantasy, this is a must see. It is still enjoyable, but not as great as I hoped for. The only down side is the fact that the story ends rather abruptly.

A beautiful, poetic story told with such a beautiful, wise, and beautiful music! I went into this film with mixed emotions, being intrigued to see how a family on vacation would act like in a time of war, but at the same time, like a family of angels. The artwork for the island is incredible and I'm really interested in seeing more of the island.

I am watching this movie on a US HD television set in New Jersey. I also have a DVD player and was able to get a copy of this movie from the UK from iTunes for only US$3.25 (with no added tax.!) Without hesitation I thought this movie was a triumph of the imagination from its initial conception to its closing credits. The visuals in this movie are fabulous. There are all the usual elements of animation: a new person being born, a bird, a snake, a fish, a bird, a moose.in a box, a bear, and a dog! There is also a wonderful sequence where a small animal with tiny hands magically appears and is even ready to remove one of the bones from a fox's skull to unlock it. The overall storyline is very simple, and can be shown to someone with a basic knowledge of animation. In fact I would not expect anyone to have a basic knowledge of animation, so this should not be that hard. I think it is very easy to think of a movie to describe it and I think that is where the beauty of this movie is. If you think of a movie and look for a basic premise it might be easy to give it a rating of 10/10, or even 9/10, or even 10/10, but if you have to think, you will quickly realize that it is more like 6/10. So if you have the required imagination, and that is what you want to see then please go and watch this movie.

This review is a little spoiler/drama, please do not read this if you have not seen the movie yet. This is a story about a young girl that is an orphan and comes to the little island of Surprise Island. She lives there with her parents and her sister. She is an amazing child, an amazing mother and a amazing sister. At this point in time, the film was about two and a half hours long and I had to go to the bathroom. My parents had given me this DVD of the movie, which I had been looking forward to and never thought I would watch the film. I just watched it. It was not what I expected and I cannot wait to see the movie again. I watched it with my Dad, who has always been a big fan of the movie and was surprised to see how the story really was told. There were some scenes where I did not understand, but I am willing to go back and watch it again. There were also many parts that were very emotional and sometimes very funny. There were some changes to the story and if you look close, you can see that the story has changed. The special effects were good, though, they made the characters seem more realistic. They may look like the animals in the story, but they were also very real. This movie was very emotional and I am glad I went to see it. I would recommend it to everyone.

The Boxcar Children: Surprise Island is an incredible concept that makes you feel like you're the hero. But the film is so flawed it makes you hate it. If you have been living with a sick family, this could really put you to sleep. With that said, I give the film a good rating. There were a lot of small things that made this film tick, but that is the only reason I gave it an eight. The pace of the film is inconsistent, but it was great that the film was short. Another issue that bothered me is how the plot was very unclear. The truth of the book is a lot more clear. The last story in the movie is the last time you see characters. This also could have been used to go in to more details. The writing of the movie is really sloppy and they should have took less time and were much more focused on it. The acting in this movie was mediocre at best. Terence Howard and Tara Fitzgerald are both very underused in this movie, and even Anna Frasier is underused. Some scenes could have been so much better, but in the end it was just a film that could have been so much better. It was a good concept and the acting is what was actually good in it. There were some very weird people in this film, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend watching it.

This was a cute movie that had great original scenes. I loved the way they brought the characters into this world. All of them were very unique and funny. I would recommend this movie to anybody! If you love animals, animals that are funny, funny animals, and laugh out loud, then go see this movie!

You can only catch this film if you are an old time Alex Turner fan. I am only 18, and I loved it. For those who have never seen it, it was quite funny for a kid. It was more family oriented than action oriented. The boxcar kids are the Bucky C, Betty and Luke, the same ones who helped Alex Turner. He got them into the world of T-Rex. The dinosaurs weren't super long, but they were BIG. They ran faster than your typical wildcat, and when they saw, they went after it, not wanting to be stuck in a "I can't catch this fast" category. The best part of the film was when they were flying out of the boxcar, doing stunts. The film just wasn't a big budget, but it was a fun film to watch. It was clear the studio didn't get a lot of money for the movie, and that goes to show you that when you know how much money is involved, you want to see a lot of things, and not just the usual, in my opinion, some of the worst action sequences.

I was first expecting this film to be a laughing stock due to the dodgy animation and poor, yet typical, score, yet I was surprised to find that the film is actually very touching and funny in places. It's definitely an escape from reality and the constant jokes made me laugh. I really hope that this movie is one of the upcoming to be shown on TV and soon as it is on DVD, that it gets shown to as many people as possible, and has a good rating from me.

BASED ON A true story of 4 children on an island, This film really depicts the lives of 4 teenage girls living in the tough beach house. All four have their own challenges with their bodies and homes life, but have all bonded together as sisters. "REAL LIFE" really does present an excellent message, that doesn't need to be delivered to kids in their teen years. With a great story, and amazing setting, I would recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in a good family drama. Even the kids and parents seem to get along.

The boxcar children are a sort of happy-ending sequel to the original boxcar children. They now live on an island called Surprise Island. This is the home of the boxcar children and they spend the year learning how to become adult and the tree that they hang out on. The kids never really speak though. They eat, they talk, and they learn. They run into the adults in the community and the adults need help. The adults come to see the children in the community and the children join in with the adults to help the adults and answer questions. I've seen this in a lot of movies so far but I thought it was really cool. The parents are really loud and don't want to hear any stories. But they do want the kids to be a part of the community. The boxcar children help the adults and so the adults have to take them on tour to help learn about the big city and other problems the adults have. There is a lot of drama in this movie, lots of humor, and a little bit of tragedy but most of the people involved in this were really good and you can really feel for the boxcar children. The kids are good looking and the adults were really cute. I'm sure you'll want to see the boxcar children but if you have a chance you should see it because it's really cool.

I am a big fan of film and animation and the process of animation. This film has a lot of action and a lot of animation. It is a different type of animation, which gives a nice flavor to this movie. The story is different but the concept is same as all the other kinds of animations. The two main characters are really nice and the animation is amazing. I can't wait for the sequel.

This is such a good example of a single movie. It is so very well done. As a reason to watch it, I don't want to give away the plot or anything else. All I can say is that it's very well done. It's about this girl who is a ghost who wants to learn to fly. She wants to be a really big star in the world. Her friend wants to help her. However, no one will help her in this "dream world" that she has created. No one will help her find the way back home. That's how it is. Very interesting movie. Well done!
